Architectural Statement Entries

Pivot & Oversized Doors Melbourne

Concealed pivot systems, custom sizing, and manufacturing through Bespoke Doors in Moorabbin. Statement entries that transform the entire facade. From POA. Final price depends on door size, frame condition, and extras identified in your photos.

The Difference

What Makes a Pivot Door Different

Pivot doors rotate on a central or offset pivot point instead of side-mounted hinges. The concealed pivot system means no visible hardware on the edge of the door. Clean architectural lines from every angle.

Because the weight sits on a floor-mounted pivot rather than side hinges, pivot doors can run significantly wider and taller than standard hinged doors. That’s what gives them their presence. A 1200mm wide, 2400mm tall timber door is a different experience entirely.

Structural Engineering

When EverFrame™ Is Required

Oversized doors need structural support that standard frames can’t provide. EverFrame™ is our internal metal reinforcement system for large-format doors.

Width Over 1020mm at Standard Height

At standard 2040mm height, any door wider than 1020mm needs EverFrame™ to carry the weight and handle the repetitive stress of daily use. Standard frames flex and fail over time.

Height Over 2340mm

At heights above 2340mm with width greater than 920mm, the door weight exceeds what conventional hinges and frames can support. EverFrame™ integrates into the entrance transformation. Structural work, frame, and door supplied and installed together.

FAQ

Common Questions

How wide can a pivot door be?

We manufacture pivot doors up to 1500mm wide and 2700mm tall, though the most common sizes are 1020-1200mm wide by 2340-2400mm tall. Anything over standard thresholds requires EverFrame™ structural reinforcement.

Do pivot doors need special framing?

Yes, for oversized formats. Doors over 1020mm wide at standard height, or over 2340mm tall, need our EverFrame™ structural frame system. This is included in the project scope and price. We handle the structural work.

How much does a pivot door cost in Melbourne?

Pivot and oversized doors are POA. Price depends on door size, timber species, glazing, hardware, and whether structural modifications (EverFrame™) are needed. Full supply and installation is included. Final price depends on door size, frame condition, and extras identified in your photos.

Can you convert my existing front door to a pivot?

Usually, yes. A pivot conversion is a type of entrance transformation. We modify the opening, install a new frame with concealed pivot hardware, and fit the new door. See our entrance transformations page for more.
