The original front entry at this Black Rock home had its proportions wrong. A narrower door sat alongside an oversized sidelight — the glass dominated and the door felt like an afterthought. The owners wanted to flip that balance. More door, less glass. A stronger entry that actually read as a front door from the street.
Changing that ratio meant more than swapping the door leaf. The entire opening configuration needed to change — new framing, a repositioned mullion, a new jamb, new trims inside and out. A door swap alone wasn’t going to cut it.
