The existing entry at this Dingley property had a narrow flush panel door flanked by two sidelights. Nothing wrong with the idea, but the execution was dated — the door was undersized for the opening, the sidelights were an awkward pairing, and the overall effect was underwhelming for a front entry.
The homeowners wanted to make better use of the width available. A wider, taller door as the centrepiece. Fewer, more deliberate sidelights. Something that actually read as a front door rather than an afterthought.
The challenge was reconfiguring the frame to suit a different door-to-glazing ratio while keeping the overall opening width the same.
