A builder renovating a Glen Waverley home wanted to transform the front entry. The existing double doors were undersized for the house — two narrow leaves that chopped the opening up and made the entry feel cramped. The vision was a single large pivot door with sidelights, a proper architectural entry for a home that had been extensively renovated everywhere else.
Replacing two narrow doors with one wider pivot door isn’t a straight swap. The structural opening changes. The jamb needs reworking. And fitting reed glass sidelights on both sides of the new door means getting the framing, glazing, and door geometry all to line up correctly in a single visit.
